The Feast was a culinary experiment hosted by the Architecture and Aesthetic Practice class and shown at Rundgang, the art academy’s annual open house. An experiential sequence of food and drink in a performative, social-aesthetic setting: a spatially choreographed event where the dialogue between guests, hosts and chefs is part of the meal.

The working wall
Drawings, notes, textures.
The exhibited panels have not survived, but the wall of working drawings has: sketches of the plated dishes, carrot studies, texture samples and ink drawings, pinned up side by side.
The research
Food, service, atmosphere.
By unfolding the traditional elements that make a holistic dining experience, and understanding their temporality, the experiments seek a new framework for sequenced composition, choreography and effects in design.
Service
Hosts, chefs and guests in a choreographed conversation across a multi-level table.
Atmosphere
A movement canvas and a lighting palette, set to music, turn dinner into a scene.

For the Architecture Class exhibition, digital compositions on the subject of food and architecture were formalised through a video project that brought in music and time, elaborating movement in digital space.
